Eligibility Criteria
Only outstanding applicants will be considered. Interested candidates should immediately consult the Associate Dean of Graduate Studies who is the Graduate Programme Director of Special Individualized Programmes (SIP Director) for guidance concerning determining fields of study, potential supervisory committee members, and other application procedures.
Applicants should take note that entry to this program requires a clearly formulated program of study and the identification of a proposed supervisory committee as part of the application. (Doctoral applicants interested in pursuing a degree in interdisciplinary studies in the areas of Interdisciplinary Studies in Society and Culture should apply to the Ph.D. in Humanities Programme).
The SIP Admissions Subcommittee reviews all application material submitted by the applicant and interviews the prospective principal supervisor. The designation of the Faculty in which the proposed degree would be awarded is determined by the Admissions Subcommittee in consultation with the principal supervisor at the time of admission.
Normally no more than six students are admitted at the master’s/magisteriate level and four students at the doctoral level in a given year. The deadline for applications is January 15. This applies to admissions for September and January of the following academic year.
